FAQ
1. Q: Are the latitude, longitude, and altitude data from the module or the RTK antenna?
A: The positioning data corresponds to the phase center of the RTK antenna.
2. Q: Can satellite coordinate data be integrated into our own software system?
A: Yes. The RTK module outputs data via a serial interface and provides ROS, Python, and C++ demos. Users can refer to these demos to parse and integrate the data into their own systems.
3. Q: Where is the positioning data stored — base station or rover?
A: The data is stored on the rover (mobile unit).
4. Q: What is the output interface of the base station — TTL or RS232?
A: The base station uses a TTL interface.
5. Q: How to connect RTK positioning to a flight controller (PX4)?
A: Connect the RTK module to the GPS1 or GPS2 port on the Pixhawk flight controller (a GPS1 communication cable is provided). Then follow the user guide to complete parameter configuration.
6. Q: Do we need to configure interfaces or parameters via upper computer software or serial debugging tools?
A: No additional configuration is required by default. The module is pre-configured at the factory, and a configuration guide is provided if customization is needed.
7. Q: Is there latency in RTK positioning data? Is it fixed?
A: After the chip completes computation, data is output immediately with minimal internal delay.
However, overall latency mainly depends on user-side protocol parsing, which may vary depending on the application environment.
8. Q: Can RTK data be transmitted to a microcontroller (MCU)?
A: Yes. The module provides a 7-pin UART interface with TTL output, making it suitable for MCU integration.
9. Q: Can RTK data be stored on the module itself?
A: No. The module does not support onboard storage. Data must be parsed and stored externally (e.g., via a computer or embedded system).
10. Q: Can RTK be used in underground parking lots or tunnels?
A: No. RTK requires open-sky conditions with clear satellite visibility and cannot function in GPS-denied environments such as underground or tunnels.
11. Q: Does it support ROS2? Are ROS2 drivers available?
A: Yes. We provide both ROS1 and ROS2 drivers for integration.
